Softball Recap: Woodland Wolves vs. Dixon Rams
After flying high against Natomas last Tuesday, Woodland came back down to earth. The Wolves lost 13-3 to the Dixon Rams on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 21-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
Woodland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Tetreault, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Woodland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Dixon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland will challenge Destiny Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dixon, they will face off against Sutter at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
