Soccer Game Preview: Lapeer vs. Bay City Western

The Lapeer Lightning will head out to challenge the Bay City Western Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lapeer took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Central with a sharp 6-3 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Lapeer considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Bay City Western kept a clean sheet against Freeland on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Falcons 1-0. Bay City Western haven't had any issues with Freeland recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The victory got Lapeer back to even at 3-3-2. As for Bay City Western, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Lapeer couldn't quite get it done against Bay City Western when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Lightning avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
