Baseball Recap: Firebaugh Comes Up Short

Firebaugh had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-12 to make it ten. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosevelt Rough Riders. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Rough Riders from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

Eli Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those triples marked the first that he has hit this season.

As for Roosevelt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5-2. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

On Roosevelt's side, the team relied heavily on Gonzales Leonardo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Molano Manuel, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Firebaugh didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-2 defeat against Coalinga on the 10th. As for Roosevelt, they have also already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Sierra on the 31st.
