Basketball Recap: Hickory Takes a Loss

Hickory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the King's Fork Bulldogs 61-22. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 11th).

Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for King's Fork, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory will challenge Grassfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for King's Fork, they will square off against Nansemond River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. King's Fork has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three games.
