Basketball Recap: Ben Davis Find Success

Ben Davis hadn't done well against Carmel recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Ben Davis Giants sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-43 win over the Carmel Greyhounds. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Giants as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Shania Curry continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 11 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds. Aubri Ingram was another key player, putting up ten points.

Ben Davis was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Ben Davis now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Carmel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Ben Davis will take on Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Avon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Carmel, they will challenge Noblesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Noblesville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Carmel likes a good challenge.
