Volleyball Recap: Hubbard Takes a Loss

Hubbard was the 2-0 winner over Morgan Park Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Greyhounds fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Mia Jauregui paced Hubbard's offense, picking up six kills. Jauregui got some help from Debora Lopez and her four assists. Jauregui was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Morgan Park Academy was led to victory by Isabella Almanza and Bree English. Almanza had 11 digs and four assists, while English had seven blocks and one assist. Those seven blocks gave English a new career-high.

Hubbard's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Morgan Park Academy, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2.

Hubbard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against UIC College Prep on the 11th. As for Morgan Park Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bulls College Prep on the 11th.
