Baseball Recap: South Broward Has No Trouble Against Sports Leadership & Management

The South Broward Bulldogs made easy work of Sports Leadership & Management on Thursday and carried off an 11-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Shaun Shapiro looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Keniel Marrero, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of South Broward's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 7-10-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Giancarlo Rivera, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

South Broward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive games.

South Broward's record is now 9-11-1. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Broward will take on South Plantation at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will challenge iMater Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Sports Leadership & Management's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
