Basketball Recap: Oberlin Comes Up Short

Oberlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 78-32 loss at the hands of the Hamilton Christian Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Warriors are ranked 91st).

Hamilton Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Weston led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Weston a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Seth Ned, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Oberlin's loss dropped their record down to 1-24-1. As for Hamilton Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Oberlin has already played their next game (against Welsh), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hamilton Christian will square off against Grand Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season.
