Softball Game Preview: Littleton Tigers vs. Marlborough Panthers

The Littleton Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Marlborough Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

West Boylston hit Littleton with a five-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Annabelle Caouette was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn St. Gelais, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Marlborough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Oakmont Regional, falling 9-2.

Hailey DeVincent made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Littleton's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Marlborough, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Littleton suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Marlborough in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
