Volleyball Recap: Start Takes a Loss

The Start Spartans came up short against the Steele Comets on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Start ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19.

Kaden Baker paced Start's offense, picking up six kills. Baker got some help from Jaden Brunt and his five assists. Baker was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Steele's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joe Penano, who had 12 assists and six digs. Another player making a difference was Prince Tran, who had six digs and two aces.

Start's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Steele, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.

Start wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Northwest Ohio Classical Academy on the 20th. As for Steele, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Firestone on the 18th.
