Given Pine Lake Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while East Davidson are ranked 277th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Lincolnton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Surry Central 5-4.
