Ethan Rivera and Luca Canales made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Rivera tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Canales tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Nuview Bridge's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't). At bat, Rivera scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4, while Canales scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tobias Olague, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Carson Lagor was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
Nuview Bridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 26 runs the game before, Hamilton was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 9-1 to Temecula Prep. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Hamilton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Alvarez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Alvarez has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
Nuview Bridge's record is now 3-7. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nuview Bridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hamilton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Nuview Bridge's way against Hamilton when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Nuview Bridge made off with a 17-3 win. Does Nuview Bridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hamilton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
