Evan Bailey leads a balanced attack to beat Winooski

Recap: Williamstown Blue Devils vs. Winooski Spartans

On Friday, the Williamstown Blue Devils faced the Winooski Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Williamstown sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 win over Winooski. Winning may never get old, but Williamstown sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Williamstown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Bailey, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Bailey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Laggner, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds.

Williamstown pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Winooski, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.

Williamstown will head out on the road to face off against Bellows Free Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Vermont (Bellows Free Academy is ranked 29th, while Williamstown is ranked 19th). As for Winooski, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Richford at 7:30 p.m.
