Soccer Recap: Grosse Pointe South's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Two

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Grosse Pointe South ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They never let the Western International Cowboys get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that Grosse Pointe South have won by just one goal.

The win made it two in a row for Grosse Pointe South and bumps their season record up to 7-7-5. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Western International, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6-1.

Looking ahead, Grosse Pointe South is taking a road trip to square off against University of Detroit Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Western International does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
