Basketball Recap: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Zumbrota-Mazeppa challenged Goodhue on Tuesday. The Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars came up short against the Goodhue Wildcats, falling 62-39. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 18th).

Zumbrota-Mazeppa is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14. As for Goodhue, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-52 loss against Lourdes on the 14th. As for Goodhue, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-47 defeat against Byron on the 14th.
