Softball Game Preview: Caesar Rodney Riders vs. Sussex Central Golden Knights

Caesar Rodney is 2-7 against Sussex Central since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Riders will square off against the Golden Knights at 4:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Caesar Rodney is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Saturday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Forest.

Meanwhile, Sussex Central faced Indian River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Golden Knights lost 16-3 to the Indians. Surprisingly, this marked the Golden Knights' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Sussex Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Caesar Rodney, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Caesar Rodney couldn't quite get it done against Sussex Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Riders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
