Volleyball Recap: Santiago Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Santiago can now relate to. They came up short against the Santa Barbara Dons on Saturday, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Sharks haven't been shut out since back in March.

Santiago couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Santa Barbara a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 30-28.

Despite the defeat, Santiago had strong showings from Elijah Tajo, who had nine digs and two aces, and Santiago Mancera, who had seven digs.

Santiago's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-9. As for Santa Barbara, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Santiago nor Santa Barbara have any future games scheduled.
