Basketball Recap: Sheridan Rams vs. KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers

This season hasn't been kind to the Sheridan Rams, who are still winless after their 14th game. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of KIPP Denver Collegiate on Saturday. Sheridan has not had much luck with the White Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Sheridan had strong showings from Armando Monarrez, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Bobby Garcia, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Garcia is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Hernandez, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Sheridan's defeat was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for KIPP Denver Collegiate, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheridan's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Generals at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Arrupe Jesuit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for KIPP Denver Collegiate, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
