Football Game Preview: Rutland Hurricanes vs. Callaway Cavaliers + How To Watch

The Rutland Hurricanes are taking a road trip to take on the Callaway Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rutland has given up an average of 33.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rutland is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were dealt a 60-27 defeat at the hands of Morgan County on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 68th).

Tyson White put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 228 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 80 yards on only 11 carries.

Meanwhile, Callaway had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Seminoles as they made off with a 26-0 victory. Give the Cavaliers' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Callaway's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Rutland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Rutland was taken down by Callaway 41-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Hurricanes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
