Soccer Game Preview: Asheville Christian Academy vs. Gaston Christian

The Asheville Christian Academy Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Gaston Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Asheville Christian Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals last Thursday, they were much more limited against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Asheville Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 243rd in North Carolina, while Rabun Gap-Nacoochee are ranked 90th in Georgia).

Asheville Christian Academy's goal came courtesy of Abby Laws, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Gaston Christian came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Blues get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Gaston Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by four goals or more this season.

Gaston Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.
