Softball Recap: Lawson Lightning vs. Maplewood Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Independence, Lawson was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Maplewood Panthers a 22-0 shutout. With that win, the Lightning brought their scoring average up to 8.5 runs per game.

Bailey Clem made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lawson got a massive performance out of Isabella Batts, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Marcelina Aleman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2.
