It was a good run, but Tellico Plains unfortunately witnessed the end of their 17-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Roane County Yellowjackets by a score of 83-81. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (60), the Bears still had to take the loss.

Roane County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Layne led the charge by going 11 for 21 on his way to 36 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aiden O'Leary, who went 6 of 13 en route to 20 points and five boards.

Tellico Plains' defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-2. As for Roane County, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Tellico Plains has already played their next game (against Polk County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Roane County has already played their next contest, an 80-53 victory against Sweetwater on the 28th.
