It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mathis can now relate to. They lost 9-1 to the Bishop Badgers on Thursday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Mathis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jozaih Gutierrez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Mathis' defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Bishop, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-7-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Mathis nor Bishop have any future games scheduled.
