Volleyball Game Preview: Pleasant Spartans vs. Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies

The Pleasant Spartans will challenge the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Johnstown-Monroe will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Pleasant extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Africentric Early College.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pleasant took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-7, 25-9.

Utica typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Johnstown-Monroe proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Redskins 3-0.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 27-25, 28-26, 25-23.

Johnstown-Monroe's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Pleasant, their victory bumped their record up to 23-1.

Pleasant came out on top in a nail-biter against Johnstown-Monroe in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Johnnies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
