Hugoton has gone 9-1 against Cimarron recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hugoton Eagles face off against the Cimarron Bluejays at 6:00 p.m.

Hugoton came up short against Scott on Friday, falling 41-17. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 24 points.

Meanwhile, Cimarron came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 46-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bluejays' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Mustangs are ranked 47th).

Cimarron's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Hugoton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Hugoton was able to grind out a solid victory over Cimarron in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 43-36. Will Hugoton repeat their success, or does Cimarron have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
