Recap: Nichols Vikings vs. Niagara Falls Wolverines
If the Nichols Vikings were feeling good off their 81-37 takedown of the City Honors Centaurs last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Nichols fell just short of Niagara Falls by a score of 75-72. Nichols has struggled against Niagara Falls recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Rey, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Rey's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hezzy Hall, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Nichols now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Niagara Falls, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Nichols will head out on the road to face off against Amherst Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Niagara Falls will be home for the holidays to greet Olympic at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Olympic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
