Football Game Preview: Colcord Hornets vs. Keys Cougars + How To Watch

The Colcord Hornets will challenge the Keys Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Colcord is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Wyandotte on Friday. The Hornets came up short against the Bears, falling 38-14. The loss was the Hornets' first of the season.

Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last contest, Keys made sure to put some points up on the board against Kansas on Friday. The Cougars blew past the Comets 42-21.

Keys' win came from a few key players Colcord will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Treveon Guthrie, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Garret Lemasters, who rushed for 74 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries.

Keys was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Keys didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lemasters and Guthrie. Guthrie got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory got Keys back to even at 2-2. As for Colcord, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything went Colcord's way against Keys in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Colcord made off with a 28-6 win. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
