Recap: Southeast Knights vs. Chillicothe Hornets
The Southeast Knights's 20-10 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-29 walloping at the hands of Chillicothe on Monday. While losing is never fun, Southeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Chillicothe is ranked 199th).
Chillicothe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Mathew, who scored 14 points. The game was Mathew's third in a row with at least ten points. Sol'jier Allen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Southeast and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Chillicothe, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Warrenton on December 20th. Warrenton is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Chillicothe will be home for the holidays to greet Parkview at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three games.
