Baseball Recap: Whittier Wins Going Away Against Gabrielino

The third road contest was the charm for Whittier, as they earned their first road win of the season. They put the hurt on the Gabrielino Eagles with a sharp 9-3 victory on Wednesday.

Carl Collins was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Ryan Jimenez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Whittier back to even at 2-2. As for Gabrielino, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Whittier will venture away from home to take on Calvary Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Whittier is facing Calvary Chapel at the right time seeing as Calvary Chapel is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gabrielino, they will host Bassett at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
