Preview: LBJ Austin Jaguars vs. Northeast Early College Raiders
LBJ Austin is 10-0 against Northeast Early College since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The LBJ Austin Jaguars will head out on the road to challenge the Northeast Early College Raiders at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for LBJ Austin and 22 for Northeast Early College dating back to last season.
LBJ Austin suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 61-7 loss at the hands of McCallum. While losing is never fun, LBJ Austin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1538th, while McCallum is ranked 650th).
Meanwhile, Northeast Early College took a serious blow against McCallum on Friday, falling 68-11. Northeast Early College has struggled against McCallum recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
LBJ Austin's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Northeast Early College, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
Everything came up roses for LBJ Austin against Northeast Early College in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 as the team secured a 63-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for LBJ Austin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
