Basketball Game Preview: Fort Walton Beach Vikings vs. Crestview Bulldogs

The Fort Walton Beach Vikings will head out to face off against the Crestview Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Fort Walton Beach lost to Choctawhatchee on the road by a 61-46 margin. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Crestview had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 65-63. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly two points.

Crestview's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Fort Walton Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Fort Walton Beach didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Crestview in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 76-72 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Walton Beach since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
