Flag Football Recap: Conant Comes Up Short

If Conant was riding high fresh off their 32-6 takedown of Hoffman Estates on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars took a hard 32-16 fall against the Rolling Meadows Mustangs on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 36-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Conant lost, don't look at Arianna Dugo. Despite the final result, she rushed for 214 yards and one touchdown while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 157 yards and one TD on only 14 passes. Dugo's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked her sixth straight game with at least 113 rushing yards. Conant's leading receiver Annabel Danso was Dugo's top target yet again, picking up 131 receiving yards and one score.

Conant has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Rolling Meadows, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Conant will venture away from home to challenge Maine East at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rolling Meadows has already played their next matchup (against Lakes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
