Basketball Recap: Regis Groff Comes Up Short

Regis Groff played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Denver North Vikings, falling 81-36. The defeat continues a trend for the Fusion in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost six in a row.

Sammy Barajas was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 16 on his way to 20 points and three steals for Denver North. That's the most points Barajas has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Thornton, who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points.

Regis Groff now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Denver North, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Regis Groff has already played their next contest, a 65-52 loss against Thomas Jefferson on the 22nd. As for Denver North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-31 victory against Montbello on the 22nd.
