Recap: Dayton Bulldogs vs. Cliffside Park Raiders
The Dayton Bulldogs's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against Cliffside Park by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60. With that win, Dayton brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.
Aden Pecana continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jon Rodrigues, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jerelz Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jamil Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
Dayton's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Cliffside Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Dayton's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hoboken at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th.
