Baseball Game Preview: TMI-Episcopal Panthers vs. St. Michael's Warriors

For the first time this season, TMI-Episcopal will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the St. Michael's Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Michael's took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on TMI-Episcopal, who comes in off a win.

TMI-Episcopal will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on March 8th, then bounced right back against Jefferson on March 8th. TMI-Episcopal was the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over Jefferson. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Ankith Padala was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for TMI-Episcopal: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Trent Spivey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Padala wasn't the only one working in the hit department: TMI-Episcopal kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, St. Michael's was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 6-0 to Central Catholic.

TMI-Episcopal has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. St. Michael's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

TMI-Episcopal couldn't quite get it done against St. Michael's in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can TMI-Episcopal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
