Basketball Game Preview: Deshler Tigers vs. Tishomingo County Braves

The Deshler Tigers and the Tishomingo County Braves will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Deshler challenged Brooks on Friday. Deshler claimed a resounding 78-12 victory over Brooks. The matchup marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Tishomingo County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ripley 66-22. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Tigers are ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tishomingo County's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.7 points. As for Deshler, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Deshler couldn't quite finish off Tishomingo County in their previous matchup back in November and fell 51-48. Can Deshler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
