Soccer Recap: Chelsea Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Chelsea Academy and New Covenant squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Chelsea Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Gryphons by a score of 3-2. The contest was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but Chelsea Academy couldn't quite close it out.

Fiona McFadden and Margaret Shealy scored both of Chelsea Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Chelsea Academy moved to 9-4-2 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for New Covenant, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
