Baseball Recap: Carlsbad Falls Short of Cibola in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Carlsbad couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Cibola Cougars by a score of 9-7 on Saturday. The Cavemen/Cavegirls were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Carlsbad's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Cibola, their win bumped their record up to 17-12.

Carlsbad does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cibola, they will square off against Sandia at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Matadors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
