After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last five games, Elko finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of the Middleton Vikings by a score of 3-1. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Kallista Crouch made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

Elko's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Middleton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Elko will challenge McCall-Donnelly at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Elko's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so McCall-Donnelly's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Middleton, they will face off against Century at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
