Houston County had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They slipped by the East Hickman County Eagles 60-59. The game was the first time the Fighting Irish have beaten the Eagles on their court since January 10, 2023.

Houston County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Townes Epps led the charge by going 6-for-13 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Epps has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Forrester, who put up 16 points.

Houston County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-48 win against Harpeth on the 20th. As for East Hickman County, they will venture away from home to take on Richland at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
