Basketball Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Takes a Loss

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Porter Cowboys, falling 67-44. The Javelinas were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Porter, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McAllen at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Porter, they will face off against Harlingen at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys' defense better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 62.9 points per game this season.
