Recap: Pike Valley Panthers vs. Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs
The Pike Valley Panthers lost against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pike Valley was outmatched by Sylvan-Lucas on the road and fell 77-31. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pike Valley in their matchups with Sylvan-Lucas: they've now lost eight in a row.
Pike Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Martin, who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season.
Pike Valley's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Sylvan-Lucas, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Pike Valley and Tescott will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Tescott is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Sylvan-Lucas will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Natoma at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
