Basketball Game Preview: Crystal River Pirates vs. Hernando Leopards

The Crystal River Pirates will face off against the Hernando Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Crystal River is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Weeki Wachee just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 54-11 loss at the hands of the Hornets. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Crystal River's defeat came about despite a quality game from Aidian Cordero Santana, who posted three points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Hernando blew past Hudson, posting a 52-22 victory. The Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 30 points or more this season.

Crystal River now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Hernando, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Crystal River barely slipped by Hernando in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 41-40. Will Crystal River repeat their success, or does Hernando have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
