Basketball Game Preview: Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies vs. Bexley Lions

The Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Bexley Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Johnstown-Monroe was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Bloom-Carroll. While the Johnnies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 16-8 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bexley challenged St. Charles on Monday. Bexley took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Charles. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

Johnstown-Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Bexley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Johnstown-Monroe couldn't quite finish off Bexley when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 40-37. Can Johnstown-Monroe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
