While the Wilmington Hurricane couldn't quite beat the Hillsboro Indians on Wednesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 23-point defeat they were dealt last Monday. Wilmington fell just short of Hillsboro by a score of 51-48. Wilmington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hillsboro apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Hillsboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Herdman, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Peighton Bledsoe, who scored nine points along with two steals.

Wilmington has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Hillsboro, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Wilmington will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hillsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
