Softball Recap: Casa Grande's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Casa Grande had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Buena Colts by a score of 19-14 on Monday.

Adyson McClintic and Cierah Mendez did most of the damage at the plate: McClintic went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Mendez went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave Mendez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Vance, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Casa Grande hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Casa Grande's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Buena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casa Grande will square off against Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Buena, they will challenge Desert View at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
