Basketball Game Preview: Williston Red Devils vs. The Villages Charter Buffalo

The Williston Red Devils just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face The Villages Charter Buffalo at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Williston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully The Villages Charter likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Williston was able to grind out a solid victory over Tampa Catholic, taking the game 60-50. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Crusaders are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went The Villages Charter's way against South Sumter on Thursday as The Villages Charter made off with a 52-29 win. The Buffalo have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Williston's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for The Villages Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
