Soccer Game Preview: Jackson County vs. Social Circle

The Jackson County Panthers will face off against the Social Circle Redskins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson County's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Jackson County is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Habersham Central just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Thursday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 goals the game before, Social Circle was a bit more limited in their game last Thursday. They came up short against Bremen, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Social Circle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Bremen are ranked 33rd).

Social Circle's goal came courtesy of Alana Ferguson, who's now up to 51 this season.

Jackson County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Social Circle, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.

Jackson County took their win against Social Circle in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-2 score. In that match, the Panthers amassed a halftime lead of 4-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
