Baseball Game Preview: Petal Panthers vs. Oak Grove Warriors

For the second straight game, Petal will face off against Oak Grove. The Panthers will welcome the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Petal heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They fell just short of Oak Grove by a score of 4-3. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

For Oak Grove's part, Stratton Farmer looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Farmer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kendrell Roberts was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Eric Booth Jr, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

The win was the seventh in a row for Oak Grove, bringing their record up to 25-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.14 runs across that stretch. As for Petal, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.
