Basketball Recap: Jason Krieg's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chapel Hill over Jordan

Chapel Hill lost against Jordan last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Chapel Hill Tigers lost 55-29 to the Jordan Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Falcons are ranked 22nd).

Chapel Hill's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Krieg, who posted four points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Krieg has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah 'Juice' Mcilwaine, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points.

Even though they lost, Chapel Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jordan only pulled down nine offensive boards.

Jordan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rivers Knight out in front who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards. Knight has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 16 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Lowe, who had 11 points and six boards.

Chapel Hill is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8. As for Jordan, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Chapel Hill has already played their next match, a 69-49 victory against Northern Durham on the 7th. As for Jordan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-42 win against Riverside-Durham on the 7th.
